Itinerary

After being picked up at the airport or your hotel in Colombo you leave for Pinnawala to visit the Elephant orphanage. This orphanage was set up by the government to take care of baby elephants lost or abandoned in the wild. Witness the feeding of the elephants. Thereafter observe them as they take their daily bath in the river nearby, which offer marvellous photo opportunities. Bath time is enjoyed by all elephants, young and old alike and it is a good time to closely observe their tightly knit family structure. Daily feeding times – 9.15 am, 1.15 pm, and 5.00 pm. bathing times – 10.00 am, 2.00 pm, and 4.00 pm.                                               

Afterwards head for Dambulla and explore the famous Golden Rock cave temple which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Recognised as a sacred pilgrimage site for approximately 22 centuries, this cave monastery is the largest best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.

Today we are going to Sigiriya. Sigiriya, or “Lion Rock,” is a 5th-century UNESCO World Heritage site in central Sri Lanka, featuring a massive 200-meter-high granite monolith topped by the ruins of King Kashyapa’s palace. Next we will go to Minneriya. There you will have the opportunity to go on a safari and also visit the Minneriya Lake.

Day three begins with a hearty breakfast, and a tour to Riverston. Riverston, located in the Matale District within the Knuckles Conservation Forest (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), is a scenic, cool-climate destination in Sri Lanka’s central highlands known for hiking, waterfalls, and panoramic views. It is popular for its “Mini World’s End” viewpoint, Pitawala Pathana grasslands, and the misty Knuckles mountain range.

Overnight Stay : Hotel in Mahiyanganaya.

After breakfast, we will go to Mahiyanganaya Temple. Mahiyangana is a historically and culturally important town located on the banks of the Mahaweli River in the Badulla District of the Uva Province of Sri Lanka. It is a popular pilgrimage and tourist destination due to sites such as the Mahiyangana Rajamaha Viharaya, believed to be the site of the Buddha’s first visit to Sri Lanka, and the Dambana Vedda village. Next we will go to soraborawewa.

Overnight Stay : Hotel in Badulla.

Day five begins with a hearty breakfast, and a tour to Ella. After visiting Ella town, we will go to see the Nine Arch Bridge. After that you can go to little adam’s peak for a small hiking. At the end of the day, we arrive at Udawalawe for accommodation.

Today we are going to Udawalawa Safari. Udawalawa is famous for is population of elephants, mungos, birds……

Afterwards we will take you to the airport or your beach hotel
